Sick (and tired)

I feel sick today. I think all this apt. shopping got me sick. Actually it was all that hand shaking, someone got me sick but good! But I have to feel better because this Thurs. Paul and I are going to meet with the owners of the cool apt. I guess we're being interviewed. How funny's that? We'll see how that goes.

So today we saw more apts. Actually all we saw were townhomes. One was really nice and was was teeny tiny and they wanted $1100! and we had to pay ALL utilities. Crap!

I'm getting sick and tired of looking for a place. So I'm ready to just sign any papers and not have to deal with this anymore.

Enough of the apt. talk.

I have this great idea for a new blog post and I think I'm going to post one on Sat.
I hope I get some traffic, because it deals with people participation.

I don't know how many people I've told about this bloglog, but no one seems to bother to participate, except Summer! So thanks Summer!! Maybe Summer and I need to find ourselves some bloggers.

I want to type more, but my throat is so sore, so I'm going to bed!

Finally!

So Paul and I went to view some more places. Finally we saw some winners! Now we just have to wait and see if we're approved. I swear, it's harder to get a rental than buy a house! (Although Albert may not think so).

Tomorrow we have a few more appts. but I really do hope that one of these places we saw today will call us. They're two totally different houses. One's an actual house and the other is the coolest condo/apt. I've seen!

Paul loved the house. It was really big. It had two bedrooms upstairs and 2 small one's in the basement. Everything was updated and remodeled and it was already hooked up with DirecTV and DSL. Everything we could ask for. The only qualm I had was the neighborhood. It was a decent neighborhood but it was in West Seattle. Which isn't too far from downtown, but it's a quieter, older, neighborhood. But again, it was a house. I wish I had a pic, but I don't. Perhaps if we're chosen, then I will have one!

The next place was an apt. Actually it was a condo and it was the coolest place I've seen the entire time I've been living in Seattle! It was in the First Hill section of Seattle, which is basically downtown. It's a funky little neighborhood and the apt. was right in front of the cool museum. It had so much character and reminded me of NYC. I loved it so much. It was like a railroad apt. and something you'd see in Elle Decor. The only draw back about the place was the parking. There's none! You have to search (just like New York!) Paul could tell I loved it. Even now, thinking about it makes me smile. But I know that if it comes between the house and the coolest apt. ever, we have to choose the house, because:
#1 it's cheaper
#2 it has plenty of parking
#3 brand spankin' new appliances, etc..
#4 it's a house

But no matter if we live in the house, which I thought was really nice, I told Paul my heart will always be with the cool apt.

Pics don't do this cool apt. justice, but I'm posting some anyway.

Enjoy

Crap. Merde. Caca.

What is up with the rentals in Seattle? Do they really think people are THAT retarded? I guess some people just don't care where they live. This weekend Paul and I visited about 10 places and every single one of them were awful. Not even worth the money! And rent isn't cheap. Right now we're paying an arm and a leg. I refuse to add Paul's left nut :)

But I do have to mention one apt. we looked at imparticular. They advertised this as a 1 bdr 1.75 bathroom "Penthouse" with over 1500 sq that "feels like a house". For only $1100. (which is cheaper than our rent now!)
So we had to see it!

Okay first of all, we had to remove our shoes (which was the fourth house this week that we've had to remove our shoes at!) So we climb up the stairs and the first thing you see on your right hand side is this huge living room. The "galley" kitchen is to the left hand side. So I liked the fact that you can be in your kitchen and watch TV from the living room. It had a nice little "dining" area next to the galley kitchen. And the window was facing downtown, so you had a "peek-a-boo" view of the city. haha. Anyway, so you walk down this really narrow hallway right into a small bathroom. You turn to your left and walk down a tiny area/hallway where there's a door leading to the master bedroom. On the left hand side before you get to the bathroom is the w/d, in this closet like space. Anyway, so you walk in the HUGE master bedroom and what's in there? A huge jacuzzi tub/spa. HAHAHAHA. It was straight out of the 70's! It reminded Paul and I of pictures of the Poconos! I mean this room was huge. And there was a big closet in there. But seriously, a huge jacuzzi tub and shower! And the bed was right next to it! It was hilarious. There was also a toilet! And two side by side vanities. So basically it was a huge ass bathroom with a bed in it! And that was the bedroom! Oh my gosh. Paul and I laughed so hard! So we dubbed it the "porno penthouse". It was something straight out of Boogie Nights. 70's vibe and all. It was great man!
When we came out of the bathroom w/ the bed in it..there were like six other couples in the apt. We felt like we were at an art exhibit, rather than viewing an apt. The funny thing is, Paul and I hung out for awhile. Even knowing we were definitely NOT taking it, we just hung out. Hilarious!

This will always be stored in my rolodex of memories.

Tomorrow I hope we see something better. Because this weekend it was rediculous how bad these places were.

Here's a pic of the bathroom/bedroom.

No Cute boy today

Paul's sending "Squash" to print today.

So "Cute Boy du Jour" day and Review day is canceled!

The End.

Squash, Squash and more Squash

I'm only writing a VERY little bit because Paul has to finish "Squash". He's put SO much into it, that sometimes I wonder if it's worth it. BUT the experience is wonderful for him. And it really is a great stepping stone. It's official, Paul is the Designer Director for "Squash" magazine. Yay!

So this will be my last post for awhile.

Until then...

My Hero

Happy Friday!

It's "Cute Boy du Jour" day.....

Today's "Cute Boy du Jour" is the yummy hero on one of my favorite shows this year "Heroes". This guy has been my favorite for awhile. I sort of put him on the back burner after I found out he was married to DixieChick, Natalie Maines. BUT, then I kind of gained new respect for her after the whole Toby Keith debacle, so I thought it was okay for him to be married to her. heh. Anyway, now that he's on "Heroes" and I'm seeing him every week, he's back on my bofrend list. So I thought I'd make him my "Cute boy du jour" for this week. (Paul just informed me that he thinks that Adrian Pasdar has a flat face. Oh well. I still think he's absolutely yummy.)

Speaking of yummy, I thought I'd take this time to make a list of all of my bofrends. It's funny, Paul realized that I like all skinny boys. No muscley men! Which really is the truth.
And now for the list...

My bofrend bofrend: Johnny Depp
My Mexican bofrend: Gael Garcia Bernal
My hot rocker bofrend: Chris Daughtry (he was my first American Idol bofrend, but that's been retired!)
My bofrend who I think I could meet one day: Chris Cornell
My hero bofrend: Adrian Pasdar (see "Cute Boy du Jour")
My soccer (athlete) bofrend: David Beckham
My reality TV bofrend: Seth from Jerry Hall's dumb reality show
My brother bofrends: Ahmet and Dweezil Zappa

Albert and Eileen

Albert called me today. That boy makes me laugh. He's one of my closest and dearest friends. Paul and I don't have many friends. I guess because we don't see people! haha. Back in college, I swear I had a different friend every semester! And I actually got close to a few of them. Unfortunately, most of them moved away and we just didn't keep in touch. But Albert and I have always stayed friends. No matter what has happened or where either of us has moved, we've always stayed in touch. I've known him forever. I feel I'll always know him. It's like he's related to me or something. Speaking of related...

Eileen's my other closest and dearest friend. But she's actually related to me, through marriage. We were friends before we were related. She was one of the first people I met back in Jr. High, when I first started school. And we became so close. We had so many adventures. And now we have so many stories. We were always friends throughout school. We laughed, we cried, we got in trouble. But we always managed to stay friends. I ended up marrying her cousin. Hence, how we became related. Our friendship has gone through so many stages, and now I feel like I can tell her anything. That's what I love most about her.

I guess I can say I trust these people with my life. And even though all of us are living in different places right now, we always manage to stay in touch and probably always will.

Awe. So nice.

Here we are at Albert's sister's wedding.
Albert, Eileen, Me (smiling all dorky!) and Paul.

On another note: I watched American Idol last night. I think I'll review it here
Cuz wow, I need more space.

BlogExplode This!

Damn that BlogExplosion! They denied my application! What's up with that? Apparently I don't have enough posts. Don't they know they're all saved as drafts?? I can't publish them until Paul finishes Squash! Grrr.

I'm gonna go sulk.

Oh. Tonight's American Idol in Seattle. I must watch this.

Andi

Today's January 16th and it's Andi Prado's birthday. She's a friend from highschool, whom I sort of kept in touch with, but haven't talked to since Christmas 2004? I can't even remember actually. But it's so funny how I always remember her birthday. Actually, I remember most of my highschool friend's birthdays, whether I talk to them or not. It's just something I do. I'm not even sure why I decided to write an entire bloglog about this, but in a way it's kind of neat. A bloglog about someone I really don't talk to. Perhaps one day she'll read this and think, wow, a bloglog all about me. Perhaps not.

Anyway, I wonder what she's doing? I guess I could email her and ask. One day I'll make an effort, but at the moment, Paul's gotta Squash :)

Blog Explosion

I found this cool site called BlogExplosion. Supposedly they help you promote your blog. So hopefully they'll help me promote my bloglog! Let's see if this thing works.

I meant to come on here and type a bit more, but I got distracted on the BlogExplosion site and started finding other interesting sites. There are some really cool bloglogs out there. I need to start reading and participating more!

Okay Paul's gotta Squash.

Weekend break

It's freezing...

Paul and I decided not to go to church today due to this extreme cold and freezing weather. Which includes snow and whatnot. We're staying home. Plus Paul's deadline for "Squash" is coming up and he's starting to panic that perhaps he won't finish on time. But he's good. He'll finish.

On that note, because of "Squash" I will probably not be writing for awhile or write posts somewhere else and publish them later. When I get more time on the computer, since Paul will be hogging it all up.

Until my next blog...

David Beckham day

So last night I was thinking, who was I going to pick for today's "Cute boy du jour" and I turned on the tube and voila! wouldn't you know it, David Beckham's mug was plastered on every news channel, entertainment channel and sports channel. So in honor of Beckam's move to the states and 250 million dollar deal (quite a bunch of cash, don't you think?) I'm making today David Beckham day. He's the "Cute boy du jour" of the day, plus I"ll be reviewing (drum roll) "Bend it like Beckham". How clever am I?

Well, it's still snowing and raining and chilly in Seattle. It looks like we'll be staying in this weekend again. Which is fine with me because I really don't want to be sliding all over the place. Plus, we won't spend any money if we stay at home.

I'd better go review Bend it like Beckham, before Paul throws me off the computer!

(photo ©Darren Staples/Reuters/Corbis) I hope they don't mind me using the pic, but David Beckham looks yummy here! Plus I'm giving Darren his props. And remember Corbis is like the best place ever to purchase stock photography. That's who I always use.

Seattle Rentals vs. This house

Well Paul and I looked through craigslist for some rentals. Ugh! It was hard enough to try and find this place, now we have to do it again. But I guess it's alright. Last time we were on a time crunch, this time at least we have until March 1st.

Anyway, this place was great, but it had its problems: It's muggy, the people upstairs have a little guy who's learning how to walk and we can hear him running and crying, the bathroom light is outsite of the bathroom...haha, the backyard is a pain to take care of, did I mention it's muggy in here? Awe, but we loved our housie. Oh well. On to new and better things!

Why in the world is rent so high in Seattle? It's not like people are bazillionaires here or something (Granted, the two richest men in the world do live here!) but come on, not all of us make a bazillion dollars. Shoot man, I'd settle for making a .008th of that. (is that even a number?). Oh well, we'll see what we find.

Okay, Paul needs to Squash again and I'm going to watch "Freedomland". I've been wanting to watch that for awhile and TiVoed it, so now's a good as time as any to watch it.

Tomorrow's Friday already...wow! OOO that means "Cute boy du jour" day. Hmm..I have so many to choose from.

Random Quote and other stuff...

I don't know if my quotes and favorites are even being read (they're on the right hand side overthere --->) so I'm typing up posts with my "Quote of the week" and "Favorites of the Week" so I can keep some type of archive for them.

Most of the quotes I'll get from TV (of course!) or movies. Whatever tickles my fancy.

Last week's Quote:
"I'm marrying a gay guy too" -Felicity to Noel's brother after they find out he's gay and getting married. (I love that quote. Makes me laugh every time).

As for the Favorites. Which are also overthere --->
I have this cool little book "My Favorite Things: How Well Do You Know Your..." by Raisner, Klausner, and Raisner.

Last week's Favorite:
from page 22...
• Bad Guy? - Darth Vadar
• Bagel? - Pumperknickel. Add some pastrami and that's just yum!

Archive out.

Moving melancholy

Man, when it rains it pours.

So not only did I not get the X-box gig, Paul and I just got a notice saying we have to move out of our housie! The landlord's son is moving back to Seattle and he's moving in here. We're so bummed! We put a lot into making this a cool place to live and it feels like we just moved in. Oh well, what can we do? I wanted to make a YouTube vid of our house, but I don't know. I still think I'll take some pics though. I'll post those somewhere, later on.

It's been snowing all day today. It's so pretty. Looks like we'll be staying in this week. We don't want to go slipping and sliding like some of those crazy people out on the streets! I need to find the footage, and post it, of this crazy lady driving super fast and almost flipping over! It was hilarious. I know that's horrible, but who drives that fast and in the snow, no less??

Since it was such a melancholy day I decided to watch a cheesy flick to pick me up. I chose Ultraviolet, m-i-stake! I kept falling asleep and I wasn't even sleepy. Oh man, I don't think I can watch that flick again!

Well, I must go sulk a bit about having to move. Sigh

X-box shmexbox!

I got the bad news today...I wasn't chosen for second round interviews at X-box. Bleh. I thought the interview went so well. But Anne said not to give up and besides, they pushed the project back a few months. So you never know what'll happen.

Speaking of Anne, she called me about another prospect. It sounds interesting. We'll see how it goes.

I found this site, "Blogexplosion". I'm going to sign up and try to get people to come and read my Bloglog. Of course I got side tracked and started finding other bloglogs to read. Anyway, we'll see how well this blogexplosion works. I still have to wait and see if they accept my bloglog. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I must go now, Paul needs to Squash! haha, that's funny.

I'm gonna go watch Enduring Love. It was on my list of bazillion movies to watch.

Weekend Bliss

Okay, it wasn't that blissful today (Sat), it was just another day spent at home, since we're so strapped for cash that we can't really afford to do all the things I want to do. But I ain't complainin'. I heart Seattle. End of story!

Although I know I should've been doing something other than watching movies all day, I basically watched movies all day. Paul's getting really busy with his new gig at "Squash" (the sport, not the food) magazine. And since it was Saturday I figured I may as well watch movies. (Gives me something to review). Unfortunately I watched all DUDS! Here's a list:
Hills Have Eyes (it wasn't that bad)
The Ringer
Date Movie
I'll definitely be reviewing those flicks soon! After all the dud watching, Paul had me watching football. Bleh. I'm not the biggest fan. But since his "teams", Seahawks & Cowboys, were playing and he was so torn to who he wanted to win, I apparently had to watch, for moral support. haha. Anyway, the Seahawks won and I felt really bad for that dude from Dallas that messed up at the end. Oh well.

On Sunday, Paul and I went to church. Since the Seahawks won, our pastor asked Shaun Alexander (who happens to attend our church) to speak a bit about the game the previous night. He spoke some insightful words about goals and dreams and making things happen. Paul was grumpy because as Shaun passed by me to sit down, (he was sitting a few rows behind us), I didn't give him a high five. I wasn't aware of the "high-five as they pass you", rule! Anyway, I was inspired by his words and that was the highlight of Paul's day. heh. Shawn and his wife seem to be really nice people. I need to find a way to become their BFF. haha.

Anyway, now all I'm thinking about is TV. I'm so addicted it's pathetic! But my shows are finally coming back and I can't wait. I think I may start reviewing those too!

There's a possibility that I'll get behind on posting, because Paul's going to start hogging up the computer to do his "Squash" work. But I'll figure something out.

Until then...

Xbox Interview

Happy Friday!

Well it's Friday and that means it's "Cute boy du jour" day (a bit redundant, I know!). Today's "Cute boy du jour" is yummy Chris Daughtry. He was my American Idol bofrend. I thought I'd pick him as my first "Cute boy du jour" since he's all the rage right now. So enjoy him.

It's also flick review day. Boy I've given myself a lot to do today. Speaking of a lot to do... I went to the Xbox interview today. What a day. First of all, I stayed up all night, and didn't go to sleep til 7a.m. this morning. Paul stayed up with me, helping me and stuff. So we slept for awhile and got up to go to my interview which was at 2p.m. giving me plenty of time to rest.

Going to the interview was nuts. It was raining and that crazy floating bridge was a bit shaky to drive over. So I was happy Paul was driving me. Plus, we used the carpool lane! Ooo..we used it coming back and you're supposed to have 3 people instead of 2! We need to get ourselves a little dummy and stick it in the back seat. haha.

Anyway, the interview went pretty well. There were six of us and we only had 20 minutes to wow them. I don't know what they wanted to hear or what they expected of me, so I'm not sure I'll make it to the second round. But I thought the interview went well, so we'll see. I hope I make it. Cuz it seems like a great place to work. Everyone was so laid back and dressed casually. Plus they had toys! and a foosball table and it just seemed like a cool working environment. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm getting tired, it's been a busy morning and day, so I'm cutting this short..plus I have that review to write.

Enjoy.

The Interview

I just received a phone call from Anne, my recruiter at Saxon & Taylor, asking if I could go for an interview tomorrow for Xbox. This is so exciting! It was sort of a dream of mine to work for the gaming industry and it looks like I may have a chance.

The one bad thing about this, is that I have to show some print samples, which I don't have at the moment, considering everything is boxed up, plus I've really relied on my online portfolio. But I'm sure I'll come up with something. I have materials to make a book, perhaps I'll do that.

I saw Without Limits today. Good flick. I gotta keep it mind for the review. heh.

Conversation in bed...

This is a conversation Paul and I had in bed last night.

Liz: Guess who's doing Proactiv commercials now?
Paul: I don't know, who?
Liz: Lindsay Lohan, 'magine?
Paul: You mean Fire Crotch uses Proactiv now?

Funniest thing ever!

No Sleep

I couldn't sleep! So I've decided to stay up all night and just sleep tomorrow.

I watched Prozac Nation..which I found somewhat ironic, since I feel I'm going nuts with this no sleeping. I think I'll review that flick soon.

Speaking of reviewing flicks, I've decided to review flicks every Friday. Which I'll post here.

So for now, I'm off to not sleep.

Until my next blog.

A New Year.

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it's 2007! I can't believe I'm turning 34 this year, I still feel 25! I can't believe it's been 11 years since I've graduated from college and 16, since highschool! I can't believe Paul and I will be married 13 years this year, and that we started dating 18 years ago and have known each other for 21! It's just so crazy! But 2007 is here and as much as I'd like for life to just slow down a bit, there's nothing I can do about it!

So for 2007, I've decided to make a few New Year's Resolutions. Actually, just one major one. My only big "resolution" this year, is to Bloglog everyday. I know, with all the things I should have chosen to "resolve" in doing, I chose to Bloglog, but, it's something I know I could do! SO I'm sticking to it. (not like my previous Bloglog, which I didn't write in for almost a year!) Plus, if I write every single day it'll help out with the writing skills, and those skills
will come in handy one day. I just know they will!

And although I don't have many resolutions for 2007, I do have many high hopes!

Here's my Top Ten list of "What I'd definitely like to do in 2007".
10. To make new friends.
9. To become a SIFF member.
8. To network with designers and artists.
7. To at least write a few chapters of "my book".
6. To finally finish all those websites that I haven't finished.
5. To be more organized.
4. To walk more, eat less, and lose all this arm fat.
3. To watch a movie (past or present) at least once a day. (Oh, this will seriously help my arm fat! But I really do need to catch up on all the movies I've missed.)
2. To experience more of this great city.
1. To get a full-time, great paying job (or for Paul to get one), so I can do most
of these things on this list!

And here are a few things that I hope to have done by 2009, which I'm thinking I'll have to start doing something this year to accomplish them by then:
1. To take Paul to NYC.
2. To go to Spain.
3. To start up LAPH.
4. To have our own art gallery/store.
6. To finally get my bulldog.
7. To buy a Rollin Street Flat.
8. To have a kid or two.
9. To buy a Mini (which may not fit the kid or two, ha).
10.To fly in Space. Which I probably won't ever do. But I can dream.

So those are my "Resolutions", but of course the main one being Bloglogging. heh. Speaking of Bloglogging, I have so many high expectations for this Bloglog, I'm hoping I can achieve them all. But I'll start off slow and see how it goes. I know I definitely want to review a flick a week. Everybody out there seems to be reviewing movies, I may as well do it too. I have a few other things I'd like to do, but I feel like this is getting way too long and I want to save some room.

Before I go, I do want to mention one thing, I'm really pissed off at Blogger. See I
used to have my own Bloglog on my own website, publishing via FTP and for some reason, after Blogger ended their "beta" stage, I could no longer post on my previous Bloglogs. For two days I tried everything I could to post on there, but I kept getting these retarded messages. And NO matter what I did, it wouldn't work. I tried to get help, but that was like getting Bush to stop this crazy war (did I just type that?) so anyway...the only way to get a decent bloglog was to publish on Blogspot.com. Bleh.

So on that note, I'm off to try and get rid of some of that arm fat.

Until my next blog.
The End.
